Technology is your friend while traveling. Long gone are the days when you have to travel with a physical map or language book of phrases. We no longer have to go to the bus or train station to buy physical tickets. There are thousands of apps you can download while traveling, many do the same things so save some space & download these five to get started!
Google Translate
You don’t need one of these fancy translation apps, they have ads unless you pay for them. Who has the time for that? Google Translate is easy to use, free, and fast!

If you are a shopper and want your VAT back, this is your app. Make your free profile and you are all set. Many stores will display a sticker or sign at the register or on the front door, but always ask! When purchasing your goods, they can scan your app barcode and the details of the purchase will be stored, you can also manually upload.
You can receive your VAT at the airport before flying out. Something to note, all your purchased goods that you want to get your VAT back on should be packed in an easily accessible location. Many locations want to see the goods in question! If you have an option to receive cash or have it deposited on your card, always go cash. If there is a problem with the refund to your card, you just won’t get it back.
